At Pope John XXIII School, the stations of the cross were the focus of religion classes during the final weeks of Lent. Students from first through eighth grades prayed the stations either in the chapel or in church. In their classrooms all the grades did special activities. First graders completed a booklet that included coloring and writing a personal prayer for each station. Even the preschool four-year olds decorated special wooden crosses to remember Jesus, which were then mounted on a stone.

Four–year old preschoolers Polly Quintanilla, Kyla Henderson, Adriana Merriam, Mia Lara,
and Maebh Cross
hold their finished crosses.
