| The Knights of Columbus Evanston Council 1077 were the top fundraisers in the Special Olympics Illinois Law Enforcement Torch Run Polar Plunge held Saturday, February 26 on the icy shores of Lake Michigan at the North Beach at Northwestern University in Evanston. The team brought in almost $7,000, which will go to Special Olympics athletes who train and compete throughout the year in 19 different sports in Illinois, all at no cost to the athletes or their families. Special thanks to David Wales, who raised over $6,500 and was recognized as the top fundraiser among all 89 people participating! This year's team included the following brave men: David Wales; Joe Keefer; Dan Clark; Henry Clark; Doug Justus; Richard O'Dwyer; Mickey Edwards and Wil Edwards. |
