Selection / Appointment of Lay Members

Two members from each of the four commissions shall be selected for membership on the Council by parishioners involved in the ministries comprising each commission. The Council shall also consist of four "at-large" members.

Each spring, the Pastor, Chairperson, and Vice-Chairperson shall determine which at large positions will be open at the end of the current term. Parishioners shall be informed of vacancies on the Council through the bulletin and other appropriate communication channels and encouraged to inform the Pastor of their interest. They will be invited to consider participating on the Council as a service to the people of St. Mary's Parish. Prayerful discernment and discussion with those who have come forth will follow. At the end of this process, the newly selected members will be invited to the June meeting and begin their term of office on July 1.
