Meetings General meetings are held monthly with the exception of December, July and August. Meetings are held at the Parish Center beginning at 7 pm unless otherwise determined. Special meetings may be called as the need arises. The Pastor's approval is required for special meetings. It is expected that prayer and faith formation will be an integral part of the Council member's lives and be included in each meeting. It is also expected that members will be in regular attendance at Council meetings. Circumstances arise which prohibit attendance on occasion. However, members who are repeatedly absent may be requested to resign. Council meetings are open to all parishioners. A non-council member who wishes to address the Council should so inform the Chairperson no later than two weeks prior to the meeting at which the individuals wishes to speak. Such requests require the approval of the Chairperson. The Chairperson may also invite non-council members to participate in specific Council discussions. An agenda shall be prepared by the Chairperson, Vice-chairperson and the pastor and disseminated to Council members no later than one week prior to the meeting. Council members are encouraged to suggest agenda items. Non-agenda items of significant importance should not be brought up by members or non-council members during a Council meeting with the expectation that the item will be fully discussed and consensus reached at the meeting. Rather, the item may be placed on the agenda of a subsequent meeting. The Recording Secretary shall insure that the minutes from the prior meeting are posted in the Church vestibule and placed in the bulletin the week before the next meeting. |
