Decision Making Decisions are typically not made by majority vote. Rather, the opinions of all those present are heard and then the Council works, prayers and discusses until it arrives at a decision that is acceptable to the Council. In other words, a decision is not arrived at until consensus is achieved. When consensus seeking becomes a lengthy and labored process, the Council may ask for assistance and expertise from outside sources, e.g., the Archdiocese. No recommendations or actions will be taken until the Council a whole can achieve consensus. Consensus is defined as the common agreement of the Council members present at a meeting at which the agreement is achieved, provided there are at least 7 non-staff Pastoral council members present. |
